Business automation and its future!
Business automation is a very integral part of enterprises working at all level that is from startups to blue chip companies incorporated decades ago. Business automation in layman’s language means to automate various repetitive tasks with the help of various technologies like “Machine Learning”, and “Artificial Intelligence” so that the human resource can be used to accomplish more challenging and complex tasks.
Few of the types of automation are as follows:-
1.Basic automation-Basic automation means that all the basic and very simple tasks which are monotonous in nature and acts as a hindrance in increasing the productivity are automated. For instance using Microsoft office for maintaining huge amount of data and even analyzing the same to find scalable and applicable opportunities.
2.Intelligent automation– Intelligent machine automation means it is the most complex form of automation in which machines can learn from the past data and analyze the same information, so that it can be used further in order to take trend based and scientific decisions. Examples of intelligent automation can be driverless cars in automobile sectors, high precision military equipment and electronic devices like smartphones etc.
Advantages of business automation are as follows:-
1.Increased Production-The total output in terms of quality and quantity can be increased without expansion of huge production facility.
2.Improved Efficiency-The efficiency and effectiveness of the various tasks in various departments like marketing, finance and human resource will increase which will improve the overall revenue of the organization. As per recent studies 43% of the firms want to reduce workforce requirements by integrating various automation technologies.
3.Safety working conditions– Automation is boon for industrial workers who are responsible for working on dangerous machinery with minimum safety standards, as the work allocated can be programmed by the use of intelligent machines.
Disadvantages of automation:-
1.Increased costs: Too much automation increases the cost of business operations in long run as the machines may underperform when critical decisions are to be taken.
2.Unemployment:Automation can increase unemployment as the workforce requirements will lower significantly. Currently, though Indian GDP is increasing in contrast of rising joblessness.
