The effects of climate change India is facing!

What is climate change?

Climate change in broad terms refers to the change in Earth’s climate at local, regional or global levels at an unprecedented rate, the main cause being human activities after pre industrial area that is after 1850’s.

CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE

1.Burning coal, oil and gas: Burning of coal, oil and gas is one of the primary reasons of increasing climate change and other effects like global warming, etc.

CO2 emissions by various economic activity

2.Cutting down of forests: Trees help in regulating the amount of carbon dioxide by absorbing it and cutting the same releases all the tapped carbon dioxide and other green house gases under the soil. For eg cutting of nearly 2 lakh trees in Buxwaha Forest of Madhya Pradesh to make diamond firm is causing serious ecological damage.

3.Increased livestock farming: Due to increased grazing on open fields it reduces the quality of soil and field and also livestock like(cows, buffalo), etc. release lots of methane gas. This should be kept in check which is an individual opportunity.

4.Excessive use of fertilizers: Excessive use of fertilizers without learning its proper use makes situation worse further. Fertilizers further mix with water bodies like <canals, rivers>, etc. which is very dangerous for aquatic animals further disturbing the ecological balance and contributing to the cause of climate change.

Ways to counter Climate change:

1.Use of renewable energy: We should focus on using renewable energy like solar energy, wind energy etc. and thus reduce our dependence on the fuels that do not burn completely.

2.Population control: Population control is very important as if we focus on this aspect the overall demand for the resources will go down and we will be able to live a more sustainable life.

3.Use of Technology: Usage of technology is very important in order to reduce physical movement of people, reduce corruption and helps in better tracking of planet’s health.
